    Brazil ANAC publishes August average domestic airfare of BRL 776.87

    Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) published its August airfare panel data on 22 September 2026. The real average fare across all routes and all carriers was BRL 776.87 per segment, up 14.5% versus August 2025 and 15.1% versus August 2024, in August 2025 values adjusted by IPCA. Jet fuel (QAV) averaged BRL 4.98 per litre, up 31.8% year on year and 10.4% versus August 2024. The fare methodology covers only the air transport price paid, excluding ancillary services such as baggage and seat selection and boarding fees, and excludes tickets with discounts not available to the general public, including award tickets, corporate fares and airline employee tickets.     EASA: EU SAF supply reached 1.1 million tonnes in 2025, exceeding the 2% mandate

    EASA published its 2026 ReFuelEU Aviation Annual Technical Report on 17 September 2026. Aviation fuel suppliers reported 39.3 million tonnes of fuel at Union airports in 2025, of which 1.1 million tonnes (2.8%) was SAF, exceeding the 2% mandatory minimum applicable in 2025. SAF supply rose from 193,000 tonnes in 2024 to 1.1 million tonnes in 2025, nearly six times the previous volume. SAF was supplied at 121 Union airports across all 27 EU Member States, or 79% of Union airports, up from 33 airports in 2024.     BTS: U.S. Airlines' July 2026 Fuel Cost Down 1.8% MoM, Consumption Up 3.8%

    The U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) released July 2026 fuel cost and consumption figures for U.S. scheduled service airlines. Total fuel expenditure was $5.89 billion, down 1.8% from $5.99 billion in June 2026 and up 43.0% from $4.12 billion in July 2025. Airlines used 1.732 billion gallons, up 3.8% month over month and down 1.6% year over year. Cost per gallon was $3.40, down 19 cents (5.4%) from June 2026 and up $1.06 (45.4%) from July 2025.
