Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) published the Civil Aviation Manual for Cabin Crew, aimed at guiding airlines and airport operators on civil aviation security (AVSEC) requirements applicable to cabin departments. It provides explanations, examples and commentary on ANAC regulations covering onboard provisions and cabin service, and compiles the applicable regulations in its appendices. Because it contains Restricted AVSEC Information (IRA), the manual is not publicly accessible; under the need-to-know principle, access requires specific ANAC authorization, and the agency sends it directly to air and airport operators.

Amadeus Data: Chicago and New York Marathons Lift Air and Hotel Demand

Brazil ANAC Opens Public Consultation on Sport Pilot Training Rule Amendments

Brazil civil aviation carried 11.5 million passengers in August, up 2.5% year on year

Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) updated its August demand and supply report: the sector carried 11.5 million passengers, up 2.5% year on year. Domestic traffic reached 8.9 million passengers (+2.3%) and international traffic 2.5 million (+3.4%). Demand rose 3.3% domestically and 4% internationally, while capacity grew 6.8% domestically and 4.3% internationally. Cargo totalled 121,500 tonnes, up 8.6%, split between 39,500 tonnes domestic (+4%) and 82,000 tonnes international (+10.9%).

Club Med opens beach-and-safari resort in South Africa

On 17 September, Fosun International's Club Med Lifestyle Group announced the opening of Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari Resort in KwaZulu-Natal. Brazil ANAC Resolution 800 Takes Effect on Unruly Passengers

Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) Resolution No. 800 took effect on 14 September 2026, setting rules for handling unruly passengers at airports and on board. Conduct is split into three severity tiers — unruly, serious and very serious — with fines of up to BRL 17,500; very serious acts can also trigger a no-fly list barring domestic flights for six to 12 months. The European Commission has sent a Statement of Objections to MMG Limited over its proposed acquisition of Anglo American's nickel business, preliminarily finding the deal may restrict competition in the low-carbon ferronickel market. The Commission is concerned MMG could divert low-carbon ferronickel supply away from European markets toward its affiliated stainless steel producers, raising costs for European stainless steel production. MMG is controlled by China Minmetals Corporation, which is controlled by SASAC, which also controls several stainless steel producers. The Commission must decide by Nov. 30, 2026.
