    BizTrip AI Launches MCP Layer for Booking Inside Claude and ChatGPT

    AI corporate travel platform BizTrip AI introduced custom Model Context Protocol functionality that enables natural-language corporate travel booking within Claude and ChatGPT. Users who connect their BizTrip AI accounts can search for air, hotel and car rental content in those assistants and complete bookings, with corporate policy applicable to natural-language searches. BizTrip AI earlier partnered to use Sabre's global distribution system and SabreMosaic Travel Marketplace for content. Launched last year, the company reported about a dozen enterprise clients at various pilot stages this summer.

    Travel's Agentic AI Future Faces Infrastructure and Cost Gaps

    At Skift Global Forum, Steve Singh, Executive Chairman & CEO of Spotnana, and Elena Avila, EVP of Travel Distribution at Amadeus, discussed what must be in place for AI agents to work in travel. Singh said servicing accounts for 90% of the cost structure and 90% of dissatisfaction in a travel experience, and that agentic services can consistently deliver the quality of the top 5-10% of human agents. Avila said the industry needs shared standards for identity, data, and interoperability, without which agentic AI won't deliver its value.     Booking CEO: Building the AI Travel Agent Isn't the Hard Part

    Booking Holdings CEO Glenn Fogel said at the Skift Global Forum in New York City that building an AI travel agent like Instinct wouldn't be that hard, but the real challenge is establishing trust. He argued there is more to travel than handling the transaction, and that travelers want to deal with real people when safeguarding credit card details and other sensitive information. Booking Holdings is still moving forward with AI initiatives, including its ad deal with OpenAI and integration on Google.
