    Cleartrip Enters India's Fragmented Holiday Package Market

    Cleartrip, the Flipkart-owned online travel platform, announced its entry into holiday packages, bundling flights, hotels, activities and transfers into customizable itineraries. Gaurav Patwari, Chief Business Officer — Air, told Skift that India's overall travel booking market is worth $75 billion-$80 billion, with holidays and packages accounting for about $20 billion. More than 90% of the holiday market remains fragmented, with online penetration even lower. Travelers can start from an expert-curated package and then change hotels, flights, transfers and activities.

They will also explore multimodal content production for travel images, videos and copy, plus pilots in customer profiling, AI sales coaching and overseas email customer service. The cooperation follows a path of small-scale pilots, business-value validation and gradual rollout.

    Travel's Agentic AI Future Faces Infrastructure and Cost Gaps

    At Skift Global Forum, Steve Singh, Executive Chairman & CEO of Spotnana, and Elena Avila, EVP of Travel Distribution at Amadeus, discussed what must be in place for AI agents to work in travel. Singh said servicing accounts for 90% of the cost structure and 90% of dissatisfaction in a travel experience, and that agentic services can consistently deliver the quality of the top 5-10% of human agents.     Sam's Club Travel Relaunches With Cruises via Boundless Labs Partnership

    Sam's Club, the warehouse retail chain owned by Walmart, has relaunched Sam's Club Travel with a new cruise-booking site through a partnership with Boundless Labs, a five-year-old cruise-booking technology company. Sam's Club curates itineraries, sailings and destinations. The vast majority of cruise bookings industrywide still happen offline through human agents because of complexity spanning the sailing, cabin types, meal plans, flights to the embarkation port, hotel nights, transfers and shore excursions.
