    ACI 2027 Global Airport Leaders Conference to Be Held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt

    ACI World and ACI-LAC, after concluding the 2026 WAGA in Lima, announced that the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN) will host the 2027 conference, to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, co-organized by ACI Africa, with dates set for October 16-22, 2027. The 2026 Lima conference attracted more than 600 executives and over 50 speakers, and ACI expects global passenger traffic to double to 19.8 billion by 2047.

    Saudi Arabia, Egypt Lead Middle East's Hotel Construction Boom

    Despite demand disruption from the U.S.-Iran war, Middle East hotel construction hit a record: 724 projects and 178,003 rooms under construction in Q2, up 11% and 10% year-over-year. Saudi Arabia leads with 387 projects, Egypt has a record 167. Developers bet on structural growth, with major operators concentrating 90% of pipelines in Saudi, Egypt, and Turkey.

    UK FCDO Updates Egypt Travel Advice: Regional Tensions and Entry Requirements

    The UK FCDO has updated its travel advice for Egypt, citing heightened regional tensions. It advises against all travel to within 20km of the Egypt-Libya border, North Sinai, and other areas. Essential travel only is advised to parts of South Sinai, eastern Ismailiyah, and the Western Desert. The regional situation remains unpredictable, with risk of further attacks.
