Gen Z Business Travelers Are Anxious, and Brands Aren't Helping
Gen Z business travelers take an estimated 65 million U.S. business trips annually, projected to nearly double to 126 million by 2030. Yet booking and trip-management infrastructure was designed for older cohorts. Skift Research's December 2025 survey of 965 U.S. travelers found Gen Z finds business trip planning anxiety-inducing due to opaque policies, imperfect automation, and disconnected purchase paths. Gen Z is more skeptical of AI than millennials and does not want fully automated decisions; they prefer 'co-pilot' assistance offering guidance and control.
