European Commission President Delivers 2026 State of the Union Address

European Commission President von der Leyen delivered the 2026 State of the Union address in Strasbourg on 16 September 2026, outlining EU policy directions on security, economy, climate, technology and migration. EU European Mobility Week 2026 focuses on mobility for all generations

The European Commission's annual flagship campaign, European Mobility Week, runs from 16 to 22 September 2026 with more than 2,500 towns and cities participating. Lufthansa to Pilot 24-Hour Price Guarantee for NDC Corporate Bookings

Lufthansa Group plans to pilot a 24-hour price guarantee for corporate bookings made through NDC channels. Eligible NDC bookings, which must include a valid Corporate Location Identifier (CLID), will have quoted fares secured for 24 hours during a trial period running from Oct. 1, 2026, to Jan. 18, 2027. Lufthansa said the initiative is designed to give corporate travelers internal approval time before finalizing their booking without missing the original quoted price. The offer applies worldwide, except for Economy Basic fares on European routes, flights to and from Japan, and services departing from China. Perk Expands Spend Management Platform to the U.S.

Perk, formerly TravelPerk, launched its spend management platform in the U.S. after a European launch. The company said about 40 percent of its new deals in Europe now are for a combined Perk Travel and Perk Spend offering, and it expects the U.S. launch to follow the same path. The U.S. currently represents about 30 percent of its global new business growth, and it recently passed the $1 billion mark in annual U.S. travel transaction value. Perk Spend lets companies integrate their own corporate card programs and add controls such as city-level per diem rates plus native ERP integrations, and allows employees to be reimbursed directly to bank accounts without going through payroll.

Perk Brings Spend Platform to the US Market

Perk (formerly TravelPerk) announced the expansion of its Spend platform into the United States, a region that already accounts for 30% of the group's new business globally. Wyndham Launches Dolce Nova Boutique Brand

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts on Monday launched Dolce Nova, a boutique upper-upscale extension of its meetings and events-focused Dolce Hotels & Resorts brand. It is the first brand concept to originate from Wyndham's EMEA team; the company has acquired 20 of its 25 brands. Dolce Hotels & Resorts, acquired in 2015, has a typical footprint of 200 to 400 rooms and is primarily known for conferences and corporate events. Dolce Nova targets a new consumer base.

Booking.com renews partnership with UEFA national team competitions

UEFA announced the renewal and expansion of its partnership with Booking.com, which will continue as the official accommodation and attractions partner across the UEFA Nations League Finals 2027, European Qualifiers 2027-28, UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2027, UEFA EURO 2028 and UEFA Women's EURO 2029. The European Commission published a mid-term assessment of the five EU Missions under Horizon Europe, finding steady progress toward 2030 goals. Etihad Unveils New Airbus A330neo Cabins

Etihad Airways unveiled new first, business and economy seats for its Airbus A330neo aircraft at the Arabian Travel Market, with the type scheduled to enter service from September 2027. First class will offer four lie-flat suites with closing doors in a one-two-one configuration; business will have 24 fully lie-flat, forward-facing seats with direct aisle access and sliding doors; economy will have 252 seats plus a 32-seat extra-legroom section with four inches of additional pitch.
