    Beijing's Two Parks and One River Initiative Releases Ten Waterfront Vitality Scenarios

    On 21 September the fifth Western Beijing Development Forum and the Two Parks and One River coordinated development forum were held in Beijing, launching the regional enterprise alliance and the ticket-stub economy alliance and releasing ten waterfront vitality operating scenarios. Beijing Two Parks and One River Operation Development Co., jointly funded by Beijing Water Investment Group and the Fengtai, Shijingshan and Mentougou district governments, was unveiled. The enterprise alliance invited more than 60 companies in its first batch, while the ticket-stub economy alliance links nearly 600 cultural, commercial, tourism and sports businesses.

    Sixth China Opera Festival Opens in Xiamen with Two-City Format

    The Sixth China Opera Festival opened on the evening of Sept 15 at the Minnan Grand Theatre in Xiamen, Fujian, with a gala concert conducted by Li Xincao and Yang Yang. Conductor Zheng Xiaoying, 97, returned to lead a classic piece, and more than 10 leading singers including Yin Xiumei, Yan Weiwen and Liao Changyong performed 23 classic opera excerpts. Running through Sept 30 in a Xiamen-Fuzhou two-city format, the festival features 16 productions and 31 professional performances across four tracks: showcase performances, seminars, public arts outreach and creative talent training.
