    Former Marriott exec Liam Brown joins Chatham Lodging Trust board

    Palm Beach, Florida-based real estate investment trust Chatham Lodging Trust appointed former Marriott International executive Liam Brown as an independent trustee, effective immediately. Brown retired from Marriott earlier this year, having served as group president for the U.S. and Canada, responsible for the financial management and leadership of Marriott's lodging operations in North and South America — more than 6,000 hotels and roughly 160,000 associates. Chatham invests in upscale extended stay and premium-branded select-service hotels, with a portfolio of 39 hotels across 11 brands. Brown also serves on the boards of EPR Properties and the American Hotel & Lodging Association.

    Bally's CFO Resigns Weeks After Going Concern Warning

    Casino operator Bally's CFO Mira Mircheva informed the company on August 30 of her resignation for 'personal reasons', effective Friday, but will stay to help with transition through September 30. Longtime executive George Papanier will serve as interim CFO again. The company had issued a going concern warning due to liquidity issues and is exploring asset sales, equity financing, and other options.

    Choice Hotels Names Dominic Dragisich President and CEO

    Choice Hotels International has appointed Dominic Dragisich as president and CEO, effective August 31. Dragisich served as interim CEO for three months, succeeding Patrick Pacious who departed. He has been with the company for nearly ten years, holding roles including chief growth and strategy officer and CFO. The board chairman said Dragisich was selected after a comprehensive search.

    Expedia Cuts Eight Executives in AI-Focused Reorganization

    Expedia Group has cut eight senior leaders, including Sachin Singh, SVP of book-to-trip technology, and seven other VPs covering payments, fraud and risk, and self-service tools. Their responsibilities will be divided among remaining tech executives, the CISO, and finance. The reorganization aims to shift authority to smaller AI-focused squads that can build closer to the brands they support. Roughly half of Expedia's 16,000 employees work in technology, with about 5,000 engineers.

    Amadeus to Appoint Rongrong Hu as SVP of Corporate Strategy

    Amadeus announced the appointment of Rongrong (Vvivi) Hu as Global Head and Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, effective 1 January 2026. Hu will report directly to Amadeus President and CEO Luis Maroto and join the company's Executive Committee. She previously held roles at eBay including Chief Strategy Officer for Greater China and Senior Director of Innovation, M&A and Business Development for EMEA, and worked at McKinsey and CITIC Capital; more recently she has been a venture investor and board member. She succeeds the retiring Wolfgang Krips, who joined Amadeus in 2013 and has served as Corporate Strategy Chief since 2019, and will officially retire in early 2026.
