    ICAO Council President to Open IATA Wings of Change Europe

    IATA announced that ICAO Council President Toshiyuki Onuma will open Wings of Change Europe (WOCE) on 15 October in Brussels. The aeropolitical conference will address the geopolitical landscape, competitiveness, the EU policy agenda, passenger rights, airport legislation and safety, with confirmed speakers from the European Commission's DG MOVE and airline and airport CEOs. IATA said European aviation faces onerous regulation and high costs, and that global standards and industry-government cooperation are needed to improve competitiveness.

    IATA WSOC 2026 to Focus on the Human Edge in Aviation Safety

    The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that the 2026 World Safety and Operations Conference (WSOC) will focus on the human elements in keeping aviation safe and resilient, under the theme 'Performance Through People'. The event will take place from 6-8 October in Istanbul, Türkiye, hosted by Turkish Airlines.     AI in Short-Term Rentals: Costs, Flops and Hits

    At the Short Stay Summit in London, Casago CEO Steve Schwab and Forge Holiday Group CEO Graham Donoghue discussed the costs and value of AI in the short-term rental industry. Forge spends $30,000-$50,000 monthly on Anthropic tokens and is considering a token optimizer role. Schwab predicts a 'token economy' and warns of rising compute costs.
