    Hyatt CEO on Lessons From Owning Hotels and the Trend He's Most Excited About

    Speaking at the Skift Global Forum in New York City, Hyatt Chairman, President and CEO Mark Hoplamazian addressed hotel owners' pushback over costs and fees, saying the company's response comes down to mindset. He noted that for 67 of Hyatt's almost 70 years the company was the largest owner of its own hotels, so during Covid it faced the same crisis as owners in its portfolio; the estimated break-even occupancy for some larger hotels was about 43%, cut to 22% within six months, after which Hyatt shared the full playbook with its biggest third-party owner, Host Hotels.

    Ras Al Khaimah Targets 80% Premium Hotel Inventory by 2030

    Phillipa Harrison, CEO of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, said the destination plans to shift from a value proposition to a premium one: only about 13.3% of current hotel inventory is luxury five-star, and by 2030 80% of keys are to be premium. This year adds the 258-key Rotana Ras Al Khaimah — The Mangroves; next year adds the 70-key Saij Mountain Lodge by Mantis plus the Wynn Al Marjan Island casino resort; the following year brings international names including Nobu, Janu, Fairmont, W Hotels, The Unexpected and Four Seasons.     NoMad Singapore Opens for Reservations, Set to Open Late 2026

    NoMad Singapore, the brand's first property in Asia Pacific, is now accepting reservations ahead of its late 2026 opening.
