IHG Hotels & Resorts announced it is expanding its partnership with Urban Property Group by signing Crowne Plaza Newcastle and Hotel Indigo Gosford, bringing the pair's New South Wales collaboration to three hotels. The two had already signed Crowne Plaza Parramatta in 2025. The new hotels will anchor major mixed-use developments in Gosford and Newcastle. Hilton opened the 180-room Canopy Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, marking the Canopy brand's debut in the state and its first ski resort. Field & Stream Lodge Co., the outdoor hotel brand backed by Barry Sternlicht's Starwood Capital Group and Ben Weprin's AJ Capital Partners, said it will add lodges in Bend, Oregon, and Big Bear, California — its second and third properties three years after launching in 2023. The developers bought the 151-room former Shilo Inn on the Deschutes River in Bend and a 148-room former Holiday Inn resort in Big Bear, a two-hour drive from Los Angeles; both are slated to open in 2028 after full renovations. Hilton announced the signing of 10 Spark by Hilton hotels across England and Wales, adding 672 rooms, under a strategic agreement with UK owner-operator AG Hotels Group. IHG Hotels & Resorts signed a Master Development Agreement with Australian developer ALAND, giving ALAND exclusive rights to develop Staybridge Suites in Australia with at least 15 hotels and a minimum of 2,000 rooms. The first two hotels are signed: the 130-room Staybridge Suites Sydney Parramatta and 112-room Staybridge Suites Sydney Leppington, both managed by Signature Hotel Management Group. Hilton announced the signing of DoubleTree by Hilton Parramatta, a 100-room hotel set to open in late 2028 at 34 Hassall Street in Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia. The hotel will form part of a mixed-use development by Deicorp Group and be operated by Trilogy Hotels under a franchise agreement. It will feature guest rooms of 20 to 45 square metres, an all-day dining restaurant and lounge, 667 square metres of event space including meeting rooms, a boardroom and pre-function areas, and fitness and wellness facilities. Developer LaPour Partners is advancing plans to convert a 19-story office tower in downtown Phoenix into a 340-room JW Marriott. The proposed JW Marriott Downtown Phoenix at the mixed-use Arizona Center will feature a resort-style pool, outdoor event venues, food and beverage concepts, a fitness center, and 15,000 square feet of meeting space. The project aims to address demand for luxury hotels and benefits from demand drivers including the Phoenix Convention Center and Arizona State University Downtown Phoenix campus.
IHG Hotels & Resorts reported Q2 results with Americas RevPAR up 5.4% year-over-year and global RevPAR up 3.5%, partly driven by the FIFA World Cup and a stronger U.S. economy.
